Add Battery Percentage Meter on OS 3.0

Battery Percentage Toggle in the Usage MenuOne of my favorite features of my Jailbroken OS 2.2.1 iPhone 3G was the nice little numeric percentage battery indicator you could replace the battery symbol in your status bar at the top of the springboard with. I liked the more accurate idea of just how my battery was doing at the moment, rather than the little sliver of green or red. During the OS 3.0 beta, the percentage meter was defaulted to on, so I assumed like most that when the final version was released, it would be available as well. Not so unfortunately!

Here’s how to get that nice little percentage meter back!

1. On your iPhone, go to Settings>General>Usage

2. Turn Battery Percentage on!

That’s it! Note that these instructions only work on an iPhone 3GS, at the moment there is no way to get the percentage meter to appear on the iPhone 2G or 3G. This is fairly ridiculous, considering that we know it is possible to have a percentage meter on 2G and 3G phones, but that’s the way it is for now!
