If you’ve ever wanted to be disturbed deeply about the safety of your neighborhood, pick up the Offender Locator, an app that displays the registered sex offenders either in your area or close to you utilizing the location aware features of your iPhone, including GPS.
Apparently you can also warn your friends of offenders in their area by searching from their address in your contacts list. Quickly become known as the biggest alarmist in your town!
“Offender Locator gives everyone the ability to find out if registered sex offenders live in their area,” says the application developer, ThinAir Wireless, on its iTunes page. “Knowledge equals safety. There are over 50,000 registered sex offenders in the US.
