This is a cool tip to help prevent your photo’s from rotating while viewing them from those productivity geniuses over at Lifehacker. If you’ve ever had to twist and turn your iPhone to show an image to a friend in the proper orientation, you know it can be a little frustrating, involving precious lost seconds of your life you will never get back. This is due to the sensitivity of Apple’s orientation sensors, known as accelerometers. Here’s a tip to keep a photo from rotating while showing it off…
When you find an image that you’d like to share, just tap and hold on the image until the small “Copy” icon shows up over the image, don’t worry about this, because the copy icon and display will actually turn off after a few seconds, but the image will stay in that rotated position. Then you can hand off the phone knowing that it will stay in that same orientation while it gets passed around. Perfect for those pouty look-up-at-the-camera Myspace shots.
