I have 2 32GB units on order for me and my wife, both showing this same status. Also, over on engadget or gizmodo there is a thread on some mildly related article with people complaining about backordered status. All of them are for 32GB units. I’ll be upset if I miss out once again on having a new phone on launch day. I’ve been screwed every way to Sunday on launch day phones. - iPhone 4 Pre Order Guide, When, Where and How

Yes! You still need to apply carrier settings. The carrier settings install the correct APN and gateway on the phone.

I have 3.1.2 iphone with blackra1n jailbreak done. Still no tethering option. I have reset it and still nothing. Any suggestions?? Thanks in advance
