I’ve gotten some questions regarding backing up SHSH files lately, which isn’t surprising considering the iminent release of the Spirit Jailbreak for iOS 4. There has been lots of talk about how you should always back up your SHSH ‘blobs’ (which just means a collection of files used to authenticate the firmware with Apple), but there has been some lack of clarity, even on my part, about which devices this actually applies to.

I saw this post by Macrumors user Shenaniganz08 and I had to share it, he does a fantastic job of explaining how to polish the scratched up back of an iPhone 3G or 3GS. I’ve posted the tutorial text below, but be sure to follow the link for some fantastic pictures of the process… Share [...]
. . What Is Jailbreaking and How is it Different from Unlocking? Some news from our northern neighbors seems to point to Apple launching an 8GB version of the iPhone 3GS soon. This model would most likely take the place of the current 3G 16GB model at the $99 price point. The rumor comes by way of screenshots sent in to The Boy Genius Report by readers, [...]
Behind the Scenes of “Play” from Kenny Mosher on Vimeo. This is a pretty cool behind the scenes video of a Music video shoot with the iPhone 3GS, in fact it’s almost more interesting to me how they shot it than the video itself. They have some crazy rigs going there, looks like they could [...]
Recent unlockers of the iPhone 3G and 3GS have been documenting some failry irritating issues with regards to the new ultrasn0w 0.8 unlock released by the Dev Team earlier this month. In response the Dev Team has posted some helpful tips and suggestions on their site. If you are a recent iPhone unlocker who used [...]
I’ve been toying with the idea of using the 3GS to take some car mounted video using camera mounts, but this guy just takes it to a whole new level. Apparently attaching the iPhone with just tape, the video shows the attachment, takeoff and flight of the iPhone. From the video’s info: literally taped his [...]
Now that the iPhone Dev Team has released their Jailbreak for OS 3.0 on the iPhone 3GS, we can finally get a reliable unlock. While Jailbreaking allows you to run un-official applications on your iPhone, the biggest pull for most people not on AT&T or another official carrier is that it allows a full Unlock. [...]
Now that we have a great Jailbreaking option for iPhone 3.0, many of us are regretting our early adoption of the Beta 3.1 software. Thankfully there is a fairly simple method available to downgrade from OS 3.1 to 3.0. Share and Enjoy:
